Jonny Moseley Hosts Ski Channel Baby Shower.    ( < back to press releases )

Los Angeles (June 18th 2007) - Q’s in Brentwood was the place to be and be seen on Tuesday night when Olympic gold medallist Jonny Moseley and The Ski Channel Founder, Steve Bellamy hosted the The Ski Channel Baby Shower. Over 200 Celebrities, Tastemakers and Moguls from all walks of sports and entertainment came together for good music, good food, good friends, and to celebrate the partnership Moseley has entered into with the cable channel devoted to mountain sports.

Fellow Olympic gold medallist, Julia Mancuso, was there along with ski pals Kristina Koznick (named “US Skier of the Year” four times by SkiRacing.com), Lauren Ross, and Dash Longe. The world of sports came out to celebrate with tennis stars Alexandra Stevenson, Derreck Rostagno, Pam Shriver (along with husband, “James Bond” star George Lazenby) and legendary beach volleyball player, Sinjin Smith. “Baywatch” star, Alexandra Paul, and husband, triathlete Ian Murray, joined in the festivities along with Donna Mills (“Knott’s Landing”), Dawnn Lewis (“Dreamgirls”), Jaron Lowenstein (“Evan and Jaron”), Scott Grimes (“ER”), Kevin Durand (“Wild Hogs”), Amy Pietz (“Caroline in the City”), Jason Gray Stanford (“Monk), and Melissa Rivers. US Magazine’s Ken Baker, record producer Tony Berg, director and US Ski Association Board Member, Bill Bindley and staffers from Volkl were also in attendance.

Moseley won the 1998 gold medal in Nagano, Japan the same year he won the World Cup Title with nine event wins. He has won numerous other competitions including 17 Individual World Cup Events. Moseley will be spokesman, on-air talent, analyst, instructor, an advisory staff member to the network, and he will make an investment in the channel. He is set to host the tentatively titled, “Air it Out with Jonny Moseley”.

Steve Bellamy, Ski Channel founder and CEO, knows that Moseley has the ability to bridge athletes and fans, “We decided to throw a baby shower for ourselves because we needed a few things. Alexandra Paul brought diapers, Donna Mills brought a new crib and Melissa Rivers brought a new stroller. We’ve done this before and you need a lot of stuff.”

The night concluded with Moseley performing a 720-degree helicopter spin in the middle of the pool hall – no skis, no snow, no jump – just out-of-this-world skill, energy, and enthusiasm, the kind that will surely be the trademark for Moseley as a face of The Ski Channel.

Jonny Moseley (www.jonnymoseley.com) is one of the most world-renowned skiers in the history of the sport. He won the 98 Olympic Gold Medal in Nagano, the 98 World Cup and 17 World Cup Event Titles.
